Diesel Engines vs Gas Engines

There has been a history of debate on whether diesiel or gasoline engines are better. Both have pros and cons and they will be evaluated here. 

Diesel Engines

Pros

• Fuel is richer and has more energy
• Cars typically have higher MPGs
• Uses direct injection
• Last longer and higher output of energy
• Maintain value

Cons:

• Cars or trucks are usually louder
• Diesel emits more smog
• Diesel smells worse

Gas Engines

Pros

• Quieter than diesels
• More fueling stations

Cons:

• All the cons of a regular car

In summary going diesel would be a better choice because of the power of desel and the fuel economy they offer. Although the may be noisier, technology is improving and the ability for emissions to be curved is also a reality. Lastly, diesels last longer and they increase the value of a car.
